Who said collecting stamps is a grandpa’s hobby? According to the recent news, collecting stamps has never been as popular as it is right now thanks to the just released Game of Thrones Stamp Collection by Royal Mail, UK.
Royal Mail is well-known for its exclusive stamp sets, which include Harry Potter stamps, Star Wars collection, David Bowie-themed stamps and Pink Floyd set. GoT postage stamp set, created exclusively for Royal Mail, celebrates the legendary HBO series Game of Thrones.
The postal company claims they chose Game of Thrones for their new collection to celebrate the “significant British contribution” to the production of the series. What is more, series’ cast is predominantly British and Irish, and most of the series production specialists are British as well, including award-winning costume designers and prosthetic special effects artists. Also, most of the filming takes place at Titanic Studios in Belfast, at the Linen Hill Film Studio in Banbridge, and at other locations in Northern Ireland.

Royal Mail GoT stamp set includes 15 first-class postage stamps featuring images from the hit series. The unique collection incorporates the show's most famous names, including 10 human characters, 4 creatures and 1 stamp with the Iron Throne.
The human lineup includes Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Eddard Stark (Sean Bean), Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg), and Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance).

Game of Thrones 10 stamp set price is GBP 6.50 (around $9). The stamps are also available in packs of 50 (Full Stamp Sheet for GBP 32.5 or $46) and 25 (Half Stamp Sheet for GBP 16.25 or $23).
