Pixel 3 and Other New Devices by Google

The other tech giants, including Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft, have already unveiled their new toys for the upcoming year. Just in time for the festive season. And now, its Googles turn and oh boy, are we excited! The new gadgets are around, and these are headlined by the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones. They come with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and mobile photography.

With Google, the developments that accompany the new gadgets are something to behold. The beauty this year is that intelligence is way bigger and better. The two new phones come with different screen sizes: 5.5 inches and 6.3 inches. The Pixel 3 bears a 5.5-inch screen with 1.080 x 2,160 resolution (sans notch) whereas the Pixel 3 XL has a screen size of 6.3 inches, 1,440 x 2,960 resolution (with notch). Of course, both handsets easily identify as part of the Google new device formation because of the ever-familiar Pixel two-tone finish on the back.

  • The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are just the first out of the group to be released by Google for the next 12 months

  • As usual, Google ensured that their gadgets are easily recognized. There are significant step-ups on the AI aspects, but the familiar and loved two-tone exterior got maintained

  • The Google new gadgets come into the market when there have been several releases already. Fans of the brand have been waiting eagerly and are ready to try out both phones before settling for the best according to personal taste and preferences.

An in-depth view onto Google’s new gadgets

In the midst of all excitement, one thing remains certain: everyone would like to test out these phones and settle for the best model. Just in case you have not yet fully met them, here is some intel to help your decision-making process.

Under the hood of each Pixel mobile device, there is a Snapdragon 845 and 4GB of RAM. According to Google, this setup comes with significantly improved sound. The audio of the phone is clearer and louder as a result. Compared to the 2018 Android smartphone flagships, Google’s new products are up to par. Unsurprisingly, this has always been the case as proven time and over in past years by the predecessors of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

While at it, let’s discuss the mind-blowing AI that comes with these new gadgets from Google. Top Shot AI allows you to take several pictures using the ordinary rapid-fire snap burst. Then, using a specialised set of instructions the AI selects the best picture from the set. Fans of selfies will fall in love with this feature more than anything else.

Also brand-new is the Super-Res Zoom. Using this feature, AI creates a high-resolution zoomed-in image using slight picture variations. Super cool right? There is also Motion Focus which depends on AI to keep the object of a video in focus even while in motion. Last but not least, Al analyses the photo colour to come out with even better results when snapping images against a background with poor lighting. The feature responsible for this is called Night Sight.

On the back of both phones, there is a single-sensor 12.2-megapixel camera. This back camera is supplemented with a dual-sensor front camera. Front dual sensing camera enables the initiation of a Group Selfie Cam. Using this type of camera, more friends and much more of the background can be captured than it has ever been possible before (not just on this smartphone, but across all brands).

One tiny detail remains yet to be proven and checked with the passing of time. And, that is the camera quality of the Pixel 3 phone. The truth of the matter is that many Android phones brought out the heat with their latest releases. After realising that millennials and other young buyers are more concerned about the quality of pictures taken more than anything else, it has become a major concern to develop a handset that takes high-quality images without dropping the ball in other features.

Both handsets are available in the two primary colours of black and white. The third colour is an unconventional light pink (and Google decided to call the colour Not Pink). Google’s new devices are already available for pre-orders. The official initial release date is set for November 1, 2018.

In a nutshell, what does Google bring forth?

Not in so many words, but Google has brought the fire to the cookout with these new gadgets. The Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL come equipped with:

  • Better low-light photo shots

  • Excellent zoom abilities

  • Out of this world levels of focus

  • In a nutshell, these two latest editions to the Google family bring you the best photos and picture taking sessions.

In addition to the Pixel 3, which retails for US$799, and the Pixel 3 XL going for US$899 for 128 GB each, Google’s new devices also come with Android 9 Pie. Unlike previously, this year, the Pixel phones are equipped with the all-new wireless charging system. The upgrade is all in Google, and they honoured it with a Pixel Stand retailing for US$79. Coupled with the Pixel Stand, your Pixel 3 becomes friendlier and works almost like a Google Home Smart Speaker — only better, because this one has voice command.

What Else Makes it to the List of New Releases

The new Google gadgets are set to make more waves as they are steadily being dropped on the consumers. However, alongside the magnificent Pixel 3 handsets, Google also revealed a couple more gadgets. There will be a Google Pixel Slate Chrome OS tablet that comes with a detachable keyboard. The tablets have dual front-facing speakers, high-resolution 12.3-inch screen and are suitable for watching videos and movies, alongside browsing the web. All Android apps can run on this tablet. Prospective buyers can purchase the tablet with the purpose of watching videos, movies and browsing the internet.

This year, Google has fearlessly stepped it up and increased on their gameplay. The latest edition in this family is a Pixel Slate Keyboard. The keyboard connects with a snap while functionality allows it to be both a keyboard and a trackpad. This device can also be used as a tablet cover. According to Google, experience and feedback from the Pixelbook were used to modify the Pixel Slate keyboard. Slate configuration is priced at US$599, and the keyboard will have to be topped up by US$100.

Lastly, in response to Amazon’s Echo Hub, Google also announced the release of the new Home Hub. The Home Hub is a speaker that is complete with a screen. Meaning it can be used to bring up visuals such as Google Maps, Calendar, Photos, Search and YouTube.
