Where to Buy Vinyl Records Online?

In a world that is going digital, there is often nothing like the sound of good old vinyl. Whether you are a professional collector, a music enthusiast or simply someone looking for something to please your ears, this is the place to start.

Today, we will look into where to buy vinyl records online in 2021.

Where Is the Best Place to Buy Vinyl Records Online?

Now, there might be a local store where you can pick up a few incredible pieces. However, you might be wondering, “Where can one buy vinyl records cheap?” If you are looking for more options, here are a few stores that are worth checking out.

Stranded Records

At Stranded Records, you can buy vinyl both online and in-store (there are shops in New York, San Francisco and Oakland).

If you buy online, you will enjoy a wide selection of vinyl and a very user-friendly browsing experience. There are both new and used records to buy — and there is a good chance that the record you’ve been searching for is waiting for you right there.

Goner Records

Goner Records is a known name in Memphis. But you don’t have to travel all the way to Tennessee to buy from Goner Records. The store has a vivid online presence, and you can purchase new, used and special-edition vinyl. You can also get its record bundles.

There is probably no bad time to purchase vinyl at Goner Records. But if you are looking for some great deals, make sure to stop by on Black Friday and Record Store Day. These would also be great days to buy in bulk.

Revolver Records

Revolver Records is a relatively new store in the vinyl business — it only opened about nine years ago. However, the store quickly expanded and is now home to an extensive collection of records from around the globe.

The store’s founder and current owner, Philip Machemer, actually started out as an avid collector but then turned his hobby into a business. He first sold records at thrift markets before going on to open his first store.

There is also the option of purchasing records online. Revolver Records has over 30,000 titles that you can buy from home in just a few clicks.

Amoeba Music

Amoeba Music is often referred to as “the largest independent music store in the world” — and it's a true haven for music lovers. If you can’t get to the Amoeba Music brick-and-mortar store, you can get everything you need online.

The store has a remarkable collection of vinyl — and make sure to check out the Amoeba Exclusive Colored Vinyl section. The selection features limited-edition records that are only available at Amoeba Music.

The Amoeba Music website currently counts over 4,500 CDs and vinyl records, including 45s, 78s and LPs.

Discogs

Discogs is the biggest online music hub selling directly from local record shops. The store has a huge collection of music, counting over 30,000,000 vinyl records, 18,000,000 of which are all about rock.

Discogs has a loyal customer following — and the store’s fans keep coming back not only for the records but also for the store’s extensive database, which features discographies of a myriad of artists and labels.

Reckless Records

Reckless Records started out in London — and they still have a physical store in Soho. However, they have since expanded into the US market and now have several stores in Chicago.

If you prefer to shop online, there is a well-stocked online store where you can get all the records that your heart desires.

Grimey's Music

Grimey’s is set in a really musical city. A Nashville native, the store offers great collections of new and used vinyl.

Making purchases online is easy and simple. Every record is categorized from A to Z, and navigating the store’s large online collection will be a piece of cake. You can find all sorts of vinyl records there — and they also list their latest releases on Discogs.

Turntable Lab

Turntable Lab has a brick-and-mortar store in New York, but it aims to reach a much wider clientele with its online store that ships across the country.

Turntable Lab may not have the largest collection of vinyl, but its collections are remarkably well-curated. The store offers a selection of close to 2,000 records, including both new releases and old favorites.

The online shopping experience is really straightforward. The store won’t overwhelm its visitors with exaggerated selections or ads and pop-ups. Just like in a regular store, you get to walk in, choose what you like and be on your way.

Turntable Lab also sells equipment and accessories in their turntable packages that come with a turntable and compatible speakers.

Elusive Disc

Going all the way back to 1989, Elusive Disc is one of the oldest shops on our list. The place started out with hard-to-find vinyl that serious vinyl collectors would be after.

Today, you can still find the rarest, meticulously selected records at Elusive Disc. You will also see record-related hardware and in-print records. There are 7-inch, 12-inch, 33s, and 45s in the store’s collection — and you will find movie soundtracks and a comprehensive selection of albums.

When ordering vinyl at Elusive Disc, you can also be sure that it will arrive safely — each package is carefully hand-packed at the store.

In Your Ear!

In Your Ear! is a Boston-based record shop that is a true paradise for music lovers. If you are lucky enough to live close by to the physical store, make sure to pay it a visit. If not, there is no need to worry. The store offers a large part of its extensive collection online.

What’s more, the store has also taken its vinyl auctions online via eBay. Founded in 1982, the store has stood the test of time and continues to offer music lovers treats for the soul.

So, what is the best place to buy vinyl records? It is up to you to decide. We hope that the list above gives you an abundant selection of online shops where you can get what you are looking for.
