Rating and user feedback are the two criteria that help us make our purchase decision. Just think about it: you explore user feedback when you’re looking for a hotel for your next vacation, you carefully read all reviews when choosing a coffee machine or a graphic tablet, you want to know how other users rated this or that product, because it can help you either get a good deal or avoid wasting your money. The same applies to dealing with other people through crowdsourcing projects.
At Parcl rating and user feedback are crucial for community growth, transparency and trust. Our original rating system was not transparent enough and caused some confusion, because besides peer feedback the rating was also based on the level of profile completion. This is the main reason why we decided to split the system into two parts: user ratings and Parcl points.
User rating is an average of all rating points (stars) the user received for all completed orders. User rating is no longer based on the profile completion level in any way. Parcl points are points that each user receives or loses for specific actions (or failure to act) on the website. While the maximum rating is 5.0, there is no cap for Parcl points. A badge may be displayed near the Parcl points balance on the user account page. You can review the Parcl points breakdown on your ‘My Parcl Points’ page in your account.
